The centre of the village is dominated by the centuries olf Venetian castle, which has long been in the possession of the Benaki family and commands a wide niwe of Northern Evia. Today the castle belongs to the familiy Papadopoulos.
The historical Convent of Holy David-Old Man (13 km to northern part of Rovies) and Convent of Saint George Elion (35 km to the western side, on the famous Oracle of Apollo Selicountios (Aedipsos Community) as well as the today's Convent of Holy Irene - Chrysso-valantos (at the nearest place to Rovies, so called "Taxiarhes".)
