On the mountainside and in the middle of the forest, at an altitude of more than 300 meters, the beautiful city of Kastaniotissa is built. As the well traveled visitors will realise that this region of Northern Euboea does not have anything less in comparison to the beauties of Tyrol and Central Europe. The Austrian archaeologist Louis Ros realized this, when in 1841 he visited the region accompanying King Othon and Queen Amalia. Surely Kastaniotissa are the ideal base for long walks or excursions in the majestic wooded sides of mountain Telethrion.
